To ease painful and arthritic joints

Used for Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Fibromyalgia and Joint, Back and Muscle pain

Why and How does it relieve pain?

The active component in hot peppers that gives them their heat is called capsaicin, and the hotter the pepper, the higher the level of capsaicin there is. While rubbing something that seems flaming hot onto your sore joints doesn’t initially seem like it would help arthritis, capsaicin cream is commonly sold over the counter as a pain reliever. Why? Capsaicin depletes a neurotransmitter called substance P, which is responsible for sending pain signals to our brain. If we block the big P, we never get the memo that something is hurting, and therefore end up pain free.

What has been reported about Capsicum Cream?

ArthiritisResearchUk.org
'Capsaicin cream is made from the pepper plant (capsicum) and is an effective and very well-tolerated painkiller. You’ll need to apply it three times each day for it to be effective. It’s particularly useful for knee and hand osteoarthritis.
Most people feel a warming or burning sensation when they first use capsaicin, but this generally wears off after several days. The pain-relieving effect starts after several days of regular use. You should try it for at least two weeks before deciding if it has helped.
Several studies have found that capsaicin can use up Substance P. Substance P plays an important role in transmitting pain signals from nerve endings to your brain. It’s also involved in activating inflammatory substances in joints.'

'What is capsaicin used for?
When a capsaicin cream or ointment is used on the skin (topical use), capsaicin helps relieve pain. Capsaicin works by first stimulating and then decreasing the intensity of pain signals in the body. Although pain may at first increase, it usually decreases after the first use. Capsaicin stimulates the release of a compound believed to be involved in communicating pain between the nerves in the spinal cord and other parts of the body.

When you apply it to the skin, capsaicin may help relieve pain from:

  • Pain disorders, including pain after surgery.
  • Nervous system problems such as diabetic neuropathy, trigeminal neuralgia, and postherpetic neuralgia (shingles).
  • Cluster headaches.
  • Joint problems such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
  • Skin conditions such as psoriasis.
  • Mouth sores due to chemotherapy or radiation.'

'Many studies have shown that capsaicin effectively reduces pain from osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia. In a 2010 German study, joint pain decreased nearly 50 percent after three weeks' use of 0.05 percent capsaicin cream.'

What percentage is our Capsicum (capsaicin) Cream?

Our Capsicum Cream is freshly made, by hand, using natural ingregients. This Bespoke approach has the benefit of less processing than some products but it means it's hard to specify an exact percentage of active Capsaicin compounds. We can, however, say for certain that it is a very strong and powerful formula which many find remarkably effective. It's made using best quality herbal tinctures and fresh ingredients combined with a excellent base to produce a smooth and rich, non-oily cream which rubs in and is absorbed well.

PLEASE NOTE: Higher strength - The standard formula is of a high strength but if you would like a higher percentage please just add a note to let us know. Please note however that this will affect the product, making it far more liquid, liable to split and unsightly.
